2022 Competition Review

It's been an exciting and successful year for our BBQ team in 2022. Our first competition at Kondari was a bit intimidating, but thanks to the helpful advice and support from other teams, we managed to place 12th overall.

We took what we learned from that competition and applied it to our next competition, where we won our first ever trophy – a 2nd place finish in the half chicken category, and a 4th place in lamb.

The team also won the cornhole tournament at this competition!

We continued on to Meatstock and a small competition in Caboolture, where we won first place in the steak category and had our best cook of the year with 3rd place in the pork category, 1st place in the chicken category, and 5th place in the brisket category.

Our last competition of the year was a major achievement, as we won a ticket to the World Championships in Texas, set to take place in March of next year.

While we didn't have specific goals going into the year, we were quickly hooked on the competition scene and were hoping to place in the top 20 teams in the country. We ended up 21st overall, and couldn't have achieved this success without the help and support of other teams. We'd like to give a special shoutout to a few of those teams for their guidance and assistance.
